In Peace We Trust: Film Screening & Panel Discussion
Sunday, December 6 | 2:00–4:00 PM | Michigan Friends Center
Join us for a screening of In Peace We Trust, a 30-minute documentary by Michigan-based filmmaker Petra Daher that traces the history and philosophy of the Mobile Peace Team (MPT) (formerly Meta Peace Team). MPT is a nonviolent-action organization that has trained citizen peacemakers and deployed peace teams both in the U.S. and internationally for the past 25 years. Co-founder C. Peter Dougherty, a peace activist who’s worked worldwide and won numerous awards for his peacemaking work, shares the history and philosophy of MPT. Through interviews with MPT trainers and footage of the organization’s work, the film makes the case for active nonviolence as a practical alternative to conflict and militarism. Check out a video trailer on YouTube here.
Following the screening, stay for a discussion with MPT trainers Kim Redigan…
