About the event
Join us for a free public screening of the acclaimed documentary Searching for Sugar Man, the remarkable true story of Detroit musician Sixto Rodriguez.
Raised in Detroit’s Woodbridge neighborhood and a musician of Latino (Mexican) descent, Rodriguez recorded music in the late 1960s and early ’70s that went largely unnoticed in the U.S.—only to unknowingly become a cultural icon abroad. The film follows the astonishing journey to uncover his fate and celebrates the enduring power of music, community, and artistic legacy.
No admission charge. All are welcome.
